I love the conversational intimacy of this dialogue with the reader, which is so difficult to write, but you do it with panache. As I read you, I often think you are talking to me and then I look up and you are!
I often think of choices I made when young (and some made later than that) and think ‘hunh! How did I know how good that would be.’ I hardly ever do the same thing with intuitive decisions that went awry. I guess I want to regard myself as lucky and dumb but not smart and unlucky. Who knows?
YASS to tom burke’s sex appeal! plus he looks so different in every role: the souvenir, furiosa, black bag (haven’t yet seen legends but noting it)…not normatively handsome per se but he’s got that somethin somethin. i cannot imagine you being a “mrs. zimmer.” even tho you are married now you will never be a “mrs.”
Nobody knows what they're doing at 19. If you're lucky, you learn a few things at 22. Nothing ever makes complete sense. And if you're very lucky, 19 was a lifetime ago, and some things make a little more sense.
I’ve been undecided about whether to drive up to the city in a couple of weeks to see Fran on stage. I saw a clip of her saying the thing she hates about travel is travel. I come here to you today and see that photo of Fran and a photo of a suitcase.
